마 5:12

(마 5:12)
기뻐하고 즐거워하라
→ Rejoice and be exceedingly glad,

하늘에서 너희의 상이 큼이라
→ for great is your reward in heaven,

너희 전에 있던 선지자들을
→ for in the same way they persecuted the prophets

이같이 핍박하였느니라
→ who were before you.

 

사람은
→ People

지금의 결과로 자신을 판단합니다.
→ tend to judge themselves by their present results.

잘 풀리면 옳았다고 생각하고,
→ When things go well, they think they were right,

막히면 틀렸다고 여깁니다.
→ and when things are blocked, they assume they were wrong.

그래서 고난이 오면
→ So when hardship comes,

가장 먼저 마음이 흔들립니다.
→ the heart is the first thing to waver.

“내 선택이 맞았던 걸까?”
→ “Was my choice really right?”

“이 길이 정말 하나님의 뜻일까?”
→ “Is this path truly God’s will?”

그때 예수님은
→ At that moment, Jesus

우리의 시선을 위로 들어 올리십니다.
→ lifts our gaze upward.

“기뻐하고 즐거워하라
→ “Rejoice and be glad,

하늘에서 너희 상이 큼이라.”
→ for your reward in heaven is great.”

이 말씀은
→ This word

아픔을 느끼지 말라는 명령이 아닙니다.
→ is not a command to feel no pain.

눈물을 부정하라는 요구도 아닙니다.
→ Nor is it a demand to deny your tears.

이 말씀은
→ This word

지금의 상황을 어디에서 해석할 것인가에 대한 질문입니다.
→ asks the question of where you will interpret your present situation from.

땅의 계산법은 즉각적인 결과를 묻습니다.
→ Earth’s way of calculation asks for immediate results.

성과와 인정, 반응과 숫자를 봅니다.
→ It looks at achievements, recognition, reactions, and numbers.

그러나 하늘의 계산법은 지금 보이지 않는 것을 셉니다.
→ But heaven’s way of calculation counts what is not seen right now.

사람들이 모르는 선택,
→ Choices no one knows about,

아무도 알아주지 않는 순종,
→ obedience that no one recognizes,

오해를 감수하면서도 포기하지 않은 방향을
→ directions not abandoned despite misunderstanding

하나도 놓치지 않습니다.
→ are not missed even one bit.

그래서 예수님은
→ That is why Jesus

“참아라”가 아니라
→ does not say, “Endure,”

“기뻐하라”고 말씀하십니다.
→ but says, “Rejoice.”

기쁨은 고난이 없어서 생기는 감정이 아니라,
→ Joy is not an emotion that arises because hardship is absent,

이미 결정된 판결을 아는 사람에게서 나오는 태도이기 때문입니다.
→ but an attitude that flows from someone who knows that the verdict has already been decided.

“하늘에서 너희 상이 큼이라.”
→ “Your reward in heaven is great.”

이 말은 언젠가 보상이 있을 것이라는 막연한 위로가 아닙니다.
→ This statement is not a vague comfort saying that there will be a reward someday.

이미 하늘에서는 판결이 내려졌다는 선언입니다.
→ Already in heaven, a verdict has been rendered.

지금 땅에서는 오해받고, 밀려나고, 손해 보는 것처럼 보여도
→ On earth right now, you may appear misunderstood, pushed aside, and at a loss,

하늘에서는 이미 상이 책정되었습니다.
→ but in heaven, the reward has already been assigned.

그리고 예수님은 우리를 외로운 예외로 두지 않으십니다.
→ And Jesus does not leave us as lonely exceptions.

“너희 전에 있던 선지자들을 이같이 핍박하였느니라.”
→ “The prophets who were before you were persecuted in the same way.”

이 말은 비교가 아니라 연결입니다.
→ This is not comparison, but connection.

지금 이 길은 처음 가는 길이 아니라,
→ The path you are on now is not a path being walked for the first time,

하나님의 말씀을 붙들었던 사람들이 이미 걸어간 길이라는 뜻입니다.
→ but a path already walked by those who held fast to God’s word.

그래서 오늘의 고난은 버려졌다는 증거가 아니라,
→ Therefore, today’s suffering is not evidence of being abandoned,

계보 위에 서 있다는 증거입니다.
→ but evidence that you are standing within a lineage.

오늘, 기뻐하기 어려운 자리에 서 있다면
→ Today, if you are standing in a place where joy is difficult,

억지로 웃으려 하지 않습니다.
→ do not force yourself to smile.

다만 조용히 방향을 확인합니다.
→ Simply, quietly check your direction.

지금 나는 기뻐하기 어려운 자리에 서 있다면
→ Right now, am I standing within human calculations,

아니면 하늘의 판결 아래 서 있는가.
→ or standing under heaven’s verdict?

예수님은 분명히 말씀하십니다.
→ Jesus speaks clearly.

하늘에서는
→ In heaven,

이미 결정되었다고.
→ it has already been decided.

그 사실 하나면
→ That single fact

오늘의 무게는 견딜 수 있는 무게가 됩니다.
→ makes today’s weight a weight that can be borne.

기쁨은 상황이 좋아져서 오는 것이 아니라,
→ Joy does not come because circumstances improve,

내가 어디에 속해 있는지를 알 때
→ but when I know where I belong,

조용히 살아나는 확신입니다.
→ it quietly comes alive as assurance.

주의 이름으로
→ In the name of the Lord,

축복하고 축복하며 축복합니다!
→ I bless you, bless you again, and bless you once more!
