마 5:8

(마 5:8)
마음이 청결한 자는 복이 있나니 저희가 하나님을 볼 것임이요
(Matthew 5:8)
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

사람은
무언가를 숨긴 채 살아가는 데 익숙합니다.
Human beings are accustomed
to living while hiding something.

겉으로는 괜찮은 것처럼 말하면서,
마음 한편에는
아무에게도 보여 주지 않는 방 하나를 남겨 둡니다.
On the outside, we say that everything is fine,
yet in one corner of our hearts,
we leave a room that we show to no one.

그래서 하나님을 믿는다고 고백하면서도,
정작 하나님 앞에서는
마음을 온전히 열지 못한 채 머무를 때가 많습니다.
And so, even while confessing that we believe in God,
we often remain before Him
without fully opening our hearts.

예수님은 말씀하십니다.
“마음이 청결한 자는 복이 있나니,
저희가 하나님을 볼 것임이요.”
Jesus says,
“Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.”

여기서 청결함은
흠 없는 완벽함을 말하지 않습니다.
Here, purity does not mean flawlessness
or perfection.

한 번도 흔들리지 않은
순수함을 요구하지도 않습니다.
It does not demand a purity
that has never been shaken.

마음이 청결하다는 것은
나뉘지 않은 상태,
하나님 앞에서
더 이상 숨길 것이 없는 상태를 말합니다.
To be pure in heart means
an undivided heart,
a state where there is nothing left to hide
before God.

말과 속이 다른 마음이 아니라,
예배하는 얼굴과 혼자 있을 때의 생각이
같은 방향을 향해 있는 마음.
그것이 청결한 마음입니다.
Not a heart where words and inner thoughts differ,
but a heart where the face we bring to worship
and the thoughts we have when we are alone
are moving in the same direction.
That is a pure heart.

하나님은
숨으신 분이 아닙니다.
God is not One who hides Himself.

그러나 마음이 갈라진 사람에게는
그분이 잘 보이지 않습니다.
But to a divided heart,
He is not easily seen.

욕망과 믿음 사이에서,
자기 의와 하나님의 뜻 사이에서
마음이 둘로 나뉘어 있을 때,
When the heart is split
between desire and faith,
between self-righteousness and the will of God,

하나님은 늘 곁에 계셔도
우리는 그분을 인식하지 못합니다.
even though God is always near,
we fail to recognize Him.

그래서 예수님은
행동을 고치기 전에
마음을 하나로 하라고 말씀하십니다.
That is why Jesus tells us
to make our hearts one
before trying to correct our actions.

청결한 마음은
정직한 마음입니다.
A pure heart
is an honest heart.

완벽하지 않지만,
있는 그대로 하나님 앞에 서는 마음입니다.
It is not perfect,
but it stands before God just as it is.

그 마음은
하나님의 임재를
가림 없이 받아들입니다.
That heart receives
the presence of God
without obstruction.

말씀 속에서,
사건 속에서,
일상의 작은 순간 속에서
하나님의 손길을 알아봅니다.
In the Word,
in the events of life,
and in small everyday moments,
it recognizes the hand of God.

그리고 장차,
모든 가림이 사라질 그날에
그 마음은
하나님의 얼굴을 직접 뵙게 될 것입니다.
And one day,
when every veil is removed,
that heart
will see the face of God directly.

오늘,
내 마음 안에
하나님께 열어 두지 않은 문이 있는지
조용히 돌아봅니다.
Today,
we quietly reflect
on whether there is a door in our hearts
that we have not opened to God.

그 문을 여는 순간,
하나님은 이미
그 자리에 계셨음을
우리는 보게 될 것입니다.
And the moment we open that door,
we will see
that God had already been there
all along.
