God knows our weakness and ignorance.

wild rose* 2024. 12. 3. 02:43

God knows our weakness and ignorance.

He is the only One who understands our frailty and sinful nature. God knows better than anyone else that without His presence, protection, help, and guidance, we are incapable of living even a single moment.

He created us to live not only in this world but also in the eternal world to come, by trusting and depending solely on Him.

To trust in God, depend on Him, and cast all our anxieties upon Him is to fully acknowledge and confess our reality of weakness and ignorance. This is the most beautiful act of humility in the sight of God.

Thus, through the Apostle Peter, God commands us:

(1 Peter 5:6-7)
"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

If we prayerfully examine the context of this passage, we realize that worrying about our future stems from a lack of trust in God.

To distrust God is the highest form of pride, for it elevates one’s own thoughts above the promises of God.

Remember this:
For a weak and ignorant person, unable to foresee even a single step ahead, to worry about their future is a manifestation of their ignorance of their true condition an ultimate form of pride.

Moreover, this distrust in God and His promises is an act of defiance and unbelief that dishonors God.

(Luke 12:25-26)
"And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?"

The devil and his evil spirits pour all their efforts into preventing believers from recognizing how sinful it is before God to worry about things that haven’t even happened yet.

Worry about the future is one of Satan’s most powerful weapons to bring down Christians.

If we had the ability to know exactly what would happen in the future, to prepare for it, and to resolve it, then by all means, let us worry.

But since we lack such ability, let us cast all our cares upon God and humble ourselves under His mighty hand.

This is the most fitting and beautiful posture that weak and ignorant beings like us can take before God.

A day of grace has begun.

Today,
may we acknowledge and confess our weakness and ignorance, entrust all our worries to God, and live in the true peace that comes only from trusting in God’s promises and His Word.

I pray that you experience such grace today.

I bless you in the name of the Lord! Amen!
