Do not hide Your face from me; do not turn Your servant away in anger.
You have been my help; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my salvation. (Psalm 27:9)
Psalm 27 is a psalm of David, written in the midst of extreme suffering caused by his own sin.
Yet, it expresses his complete trust in God and his longing for deliverance from his present trials.
The lives of not only David but all Christians are part of the grand history of salvation,
which the omniscient and omnipotent God accomplishes throughout their lives.
The Lord, in whom we trust, depend, and love,
is also the one who disciplines us when we stray into vain thoughts and wander off the path.
Because He loves us,
He sometimes strikes us with rods of men and whips of human affliction.
At times, He even drives us to the edge of the cliff and lets us fall.
But remember,
all these processes are part of God’s eternal plan and providence
to save us.
God is mighty to save.
All the problems we face now
are steps toward a beautiful conclusion,
and we will come to realize this in due time.
If you are praying right now:
for yourself,
for someone,
or for something,
And if your prayer ultimately glorifies the holy name of the One who saves us,
then do not cease to pray.
Why?
Because the Lord is mighty to save.
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name;
deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name’s sake. (Psalm 79:9)
If you are carrying burdens or facing problems that feel too heavy for you to bear,
lay them down right now in the powerful hands of our Lord.
If we truly belong to God,
then these are not our problems but His.
The Lord carries our burdens daily—
He is our everlasting righteousness,
and He is mighty to save.
A day of grace has begun.
Today, may you live by faith,
trusting only in the God who is mighty to save.
I pray for this, and I bless you in the name of the Lord! Amen!
