Isaiah 14:24
mighty has sworn, 'Surely the idols of the nations are a trouble of the peoples, a scorn and an offense; they will be completely destroyed.'"
The Lord Almighty does not need to swear oaths.
He simply speaks,
for His Word is God Himself,
and He is a faithful and omnipotent Being who acts upon His Word.
He is the God of perfect truth who cannot deny Himself.
Such a God has sworn to Himself,
for there is no name greater than His,
so He swore by His own name.
We have our own thoughts and plans in our lives.
Sometimes these thoughts and plans are fulfilled to some extent.
However, through our life experiences, we know that most of the time,
they remain mere thoughts.
God is not like us; He does not live as we do.
God’s thoughts and plans for all the nations and every individual in this world
will surely come to pass.
Return to the Scriptures.
Within them,
the thoughts and plans of God for all the nations—
all individuals—
and
even the future and eternal destiny
of my own self
are clearly recorded.
Especially for Abraham—
and for all the descendants of faith who live by the same faith as Abraham,
pay attention to the covenant promises God has given.
Just as an eagle spreads its wings and soars into the sky,
you will gain such—
new strength.
Hebrews 6:13-18
"When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, 'Surely blessing I will bless you and
multiplying I will multiply you.' And so after patiently enduring, Abraham received
the promise. It is always for people to be found trustworthy, and so God, wanting to make the unchanging nature of his purpose clear to the heirs of what was promised, guaranteed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in
which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set
before us may be greatly encouraged."
A day of grace has begun.
