Obadiah 1:15

(Obadiah 1:15)
“The day of the Lord upon all the nations is near; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your reward shall return upon your own head.”

Obadiah strongly declares that “the day of the Lord” is near. This day signifies the time when God will judge all nations with justice. While the concept of God’s judgment can evoke fear, it also carries an essential message that God is a God of justice.

In our world, it often appears that wickedness goes unpunished and injustices abound. However, this verse reminds us that God sees everything and that the day of judgment will surely come. God's justice is perfect, and we can have confidence that He will set all things right.

The phrase “as you have done, it shall be done to you” emphasizes the principle of reciprocity in our actions. This serves as both a warning and an encouragement. Those who commit evil will face the consequences of their actions, while those who strive to do good will find that their efforts are not in vain.

Furthermore, Obadiah 1:15 illustrates how God's justice is enacted. His rewards and punishments are not arbitrary but are rooted in His righteous character. It is important to remember that the consequences of our actions, whether good or bad, will ultimately return to us.
