David

David, moved by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, recorded that God has counted his wanderings.

(Psalm 56:8)
“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?”

God counts and records everything about His people.

He even says that He has numbered the very hairs on our heads.

(Matthew 10:30)
“But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.”

We human beings are neither able to count the hairs on our heads nor do we even try.
Why? Because it’s of no benefit to us.

But the fact that God has numbered our hairs shows us something profound—
It means He loves us.
It means He places His heart, His gaze, and His full attention on us.
It is a powerful expression of the truth that He watches over every detail of our lives.

No matter how much parents love their children,
not even they can keep their eyes and hearts fixed on their children every single moment.
It’s simply not possible.

There are no parents who count their children’s hairs,
record their every step,
listen to the faintest stirrings of their hearts,
and then write those down.

But God does.

He examines our every detail,
counts every moment,
and records all things.

This is the kind of love and attention from God that human minds cannot fully grasp or understand.

Especially,
everything we say and do out of a heart of love for God—
because we belong to Him and are His people—
every persecution, suffering, and sorrow we face in this world
is seen by God.

And every tear we shed because of these things,
He counts them
and stores them in His bottle.

On that day,
He will personally wipe away every tear we have shed
with His own hands,
and He will personally repay every sorrow.

A day of grace has begun.

Today as well, may you carefully read, hear, and meditate on God’s Word,
and in doing so, walk in blessed fellowship with the Lord—
the One who watches over every part of your life with love,
fixing His heart and gaze on you,
counting and caring for all that concerns you.
